Ordained minister, Dr. Dennis Hall, uses the school shooting at a private Christian school in Nashville Tennessee that took the lives of six people including three 9-year-old children as a platform to talk about what happened in the garden of Gethsemane. After having the Last Supper with his disciples, Jesus took his three closest disciples, Peter, James, and John to a place called the garden of Gethsemane so he could pray. It is here that Jesus asked the question that many of us are asking today, "Why the suffering! "Everyone suffers because of the sin and transgression that occurred in the garden of Eden when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. It was in the garden of Gethsemane that Jesus taught us how to respond to pain and suffering in the midst of our anguish. When we yield to God's will, knowing that he is using it to achieve something great in our lives, he will give us the grace to endure and grow in Christ-likeness.
